Not Your "Typical" Support Group!

“Illness is a form of forced self-care.”

~Amy Scher

Quick Update: I'm launching a monthly membership that isn't your normal "support" support group. The meetings will be held on Zoom the first Tuesday of each month from 2:30PM EST and last 1 hour. Know you want in? Join here for the first one. Not sure read this email for more information.

After launching my book, The Journey of Unlearning to Regain Trust & Healing I heard from so many of you about how the messages I included really impacted you! This made me wonder about how else I could support you on your healing journey.

Healing is much more than mindset and I talk about this extensively in my book, The Journey of Unlearning to Regain Trust & Healing.

This is why I've decided to start a support group, the Journey of Unlearning Healing Circle that will meet once a month to read my book and corresponding workbook. In these sessions I will read from a passage of my book and guide you in exercises in the workbook to uncover what your body is trying to tell you through your emotions and sensations.

I've discovered that to heal you need community. A community that meets you where you are and is supportive of your choices and experiences. One that will help you to get better and living the life you desire.

This will be a place for you to be seen heard and believed. To know that you aren't alone and that you certainly aren't broken. To remind you what safety can feel like in your body and how to achieve it. All of this can open up to greater healing on all levels; energetic, spiritual, emotional, electric, mental and physical.

Don't worry if you don't have the book yet or if you have yet but haven't read it yet. You still have time to order a copy of the book and workbook for this group so that you can follow along or complete a few more exercises by yourself.

How This Support Group is Different Than Others

There will be less emphasis on telling a story, as seen in other support groups. Instead you will learn to lean into the "Why" and how the shifts you can make in your life can assist in healing.

The focus will be on feeling into the body and beginning to trust it's wisdom for healing. When you don't feel your emotions or sensations out of fear of not knowing how you set yourself up for more pain and disease. There will be an emphasis on connecting all of you because that is what is needed for healing. Your body is much more than bones and a brain.

I will introduce techniques that I've discovered over the past decade that you can use on your own to connect on a deeper level with your body's intelligence and wisdom. You'll discover the power of your breath and the ability to trust the messages from your body without judgment or the re-telling of the same story.

I never joined a "support group" and stayed off of social media ones because it always felt so draining and negative. I found myself feeling worse rather than better so it wasn't something I ever did. Yes being sick and in pain is hard and not fun. But being consumed with all of the negative day to day is overwhelming to you and your system. And being in a group that focuses only on how awful it is or throws out options that are costly and may not work is the opposite of helpful or supportive.

So by knowing what I don't want this to be I believe together we can cultivate something healing that will seem like Magic but isn't. It just how powerful your body really is. And how when a genuine supportive community is created healing occurs.

How Will This Group Work?

I will hold the monthly meetings on Zoom and if you can't attend live I'll send out the recording to those who register. I like the flexibility of not having to leave the house for appointments. I also find I feel more comfortable because I'm in my own environment and B is keeping me company.

Attending live will give you the support of being with like minded individuals as well as feeling the collective energy that can be created. It will allow you the chance to share and be vulnerable and be met with others who are in the same position as you. You may also have a aha moment from something I or someone else shares. This is the value of community and true support!

These meetings will be informal and not on social media because it can tax your nervous system more. I want you to feel comfortable to come as you are...even if you are in a flare and want to connect from your bed or couch. I understand those days. Let the process unfold how it may for you and trust that everything is energy and can be felt through the computer.

I want you to know that when you work with me, you will be seen, heard, supported and believed. I won’t give up on finding answers with you on your healing journey. It's never too late to heal OR to take the next small step.

See you soon,

Amy

P.S. Even if you haven't been diagnosed with a chronic condition and think you are "healthy" this group can provide valuable feedback and information on how to live healthier now. Many of the symptoms and side effects you have come to accept as normal, aren't. And in these sessions you can discover how to dialogue WITH your body for healing. Join me here.
