What’s the Slowest Way to Heal from a Chronic Condition?

Quick Update: This is an announcement for a new monthly membership I'm offering for you to discover how your body works and what shifts you can make to work with it. It will include a copy of my #1Amazon Best Selling book, The Journey of Unlearning to Regain Trust & Healing and the companion workbook to use in sessions. The first meeting is November 5th at 2:30 PM EST. Want to join for the introductory rate of $27 (per month) sign up here.

In the last month I posted on social media to see how others would respond to "What they believed was the slowest way to heal from a chronic condition"?

This is what I and others wrote:

😟Not being open to trying something different

🤣Thinking that it will get better the more affirmations you say

👌Trying everything everyone else has done and hoping it works for you

🤞Following the one size t-shirt fits all standardized protocol and hoping that a miracle will occur

😁Thinking that the harder you work and the more you do something is always better

🥹Not wanting to try anything because you feel so burnt out and paralyzed in fear

🤔Telling the same story around your health in the belief that you can find the answers after repeating it enough times

🙅‍♀️Doing everything in your head and staying numb from the neck down-I call this Manic Healing

👩‍⚕️Thinking that your doctor knows what’s best for your body

🤷‍♀️Believing that you are broken because everything you’ve tried hasn’t worked

👌Having the belief that you can do it all by yourself

🤪Taking a large amount of medication or supplements

🍟🍟Believing that one diet or food swap will be the answer to your problems

🤯🤯Thinking that someone can do it for you

🤪Believing that once you have a name for it you will be able to beat it!

And so many more...but let's get to the point because I know you don't have all day. Especially if you are living with a chronic condition that feels like a full time job and then some right now like I was.

I thought many of these were true at one time or another over the past fifteen years too. It's only been the last three years that I've come to realize that I don't need to work so hard at trying to figure it all out. My body actually tells me what works and what doesn't. I just need to listen. And that my friend is the hard part.

Living with a chronic condition can feel very isolating. It can also be like having multiple full time jobs...none that you are paid for. And no one feels good when all of their efforts don't achieve any results. When you live in a society that focuses on the Doing that is the mindset that you try to heal from. I call this "Manic Healing" (TM). And I've found that it actually disconnects you more from the innate wisdom that exists within you.

There were so many discoveries that I made from being chronically ill and I wrote about them in my book, The Journey of Unlearning to Regain Trust & Healing. And many of you mentioned you found it really powerful and impactful.

Why NOW is the Time to Sign Up

You may have good intentions to start a new protocol or program but without the proper support and accountability you might fail. This isn't you fault, its the design of the body. But when you understand how the body works you can shift your behavior to heal rather than resist and fight.

This is why I've decided to offer a monthly membership, The Journey of Unlearning Healing Circle. Each month we'll gather to read a passage from my book, and corresponding exercises from the workbook. In this supportive community you will discover how your body works and what you can shift to work with it rather than against it with breathwork, somatic experiencing and Energy Medicine techniques.

I'll hold space for you each month to experience your emotions and sensations and be met where you are. All of the practices I introduce are ones I use for my own healing. I still use them because they are simple and effective. The best part is you can do them anywhere, anytime and feel the results quickly.

The magic of these techniques is that they work with your body in simple, easy and low energy using ways. There will be no standing on your head or holding uncomfortable positions for long amounts of time. No shaming, comparing or re-telling of the same stories.

This non-traditional support group will meet you where you are and ensure that you are seen, heard and believed! It will be on Zoom and you can join from bed in your pjs. No judgment, no drama. All are welcome who need a safe haven from the storm that is chronic disease and pain.

Don't worry if you can't attend live, I'll send out the recording and any supplemental materials or suggestions I share in each session.

 Details:

On Zoom from your couch if you want

Second meeting, December 3rd at 2:30pm EST/11:30am PST

Duration: 1 hour sessions

See you in the circle,

Amy

P.S. Even if you haven't been diagnosed with a chronic condition and think you are "healthy" this group can provide valuable feedback and information on how to live healthier now. Many of the symptoms and side effects you have come to accept as normal aren't. And in these sessions you can discover how to dialogue WITH your body for healing. Join me here.
